Anna Chrobok
A Candidate for Vice Rector
prof. dr hab. inż. Anna Chrobok

Born in 1971. She obtained her doctoral degree with distinction in 2001, habilitation in technical sciences in the discipline of chemical technology in 2011 at the Faculty of Chemistry at the Silesian University of Technology, and the title of professor in 2018. She currently works as a full professor at the Department of Organic Chemical Technology and Petrochemistry. 

Professor, PhD, DSc, engineer, specializing in organic chemical technology and chemical catalysis, member of the Discipline Council for Chemical Engineering; head of the Department of Chemical Organic Technology and Petrochemistry from 2013 to 2017; vice dean for Research and International Cooperation, Faculty of Chemistry, from 2016 to 2020; member of the General Council for Science and Higher Education in Poland from 2018 to 2022; director of the College of Studies; head of the Education Council of SUT and member of Senate of the Silesian University of Technology.

In all our actions we will be guided by concern for Our Silesian University of Technology.

In 2012, she was the Head of the Committee for Polish Qualifications Framework (Faculty of Chemistry) and a year later she became the Head of the Committee for Study Programmes and coordinator of the study programme Chemical Technology (Faculty of Chemistry). She was a Vice-chair of the Education Council in the European University EURECA-PRO. She has developed numerous new courses, delivered both in Polish and English, and conducted PBLs together with students from partner foreign universities. 

She completed a one-year postdoctoral internship at the University of Vienna, shorter stays as a visiting professor at Monash University, Queen's University Belfast, the University of California and Chongqing Jiaotong University, and a 5-month internship at Ekomax company. She cooperated with the following chemical companies: ORLEN S.A., Grupa Azoty S.A., Solvent Wistol S.A., BASF S.A., Merck S.A., Perstorp S.A., Losentech, and Fluor S.A. (joint doctoral thesis). Her research focus on sustainable development, conducted with a team of young scientists ( She is the supervisor of 9 defended doctoral theses and other 9 in the progress, including 5 in Implementation Doctorate Programme.

  • author of over 100 articles from the JCR database (h-24 index) and 49 patents
  • author of the implementation of e-caprolactone production technology at Grupa Azoty S.A. in 2022
  • head of 8 grants financed from Polish research centres and 15 research contracts with industry
  • vice-chair of the Scientific Council of the Łukasiewicz Research Network - ICSO "Blachownia"
  • member of Scientific Council of Centre for Polymer and Carbon Materials, Polish Academy of Sciences
  • member of the Monitoring Committee of European Funds for the Silesian Voivodeship, 2021-2027
  • laureate of numerous individual and team awards of Rector of the Silesian University of Technology for scientific, didactic and organizational achievements
